1. Join an ITCCA School as a Student
Begin by enrolling in an official ITCCA school near you. You can find detailed information about various schools in Europe on the ITCCA Europe website. 2. Commit to Long-Term Training
ITCCA emphasizes deep, long-term study of traditional Yang-style Tai Chi Chuan. Its possible to go for a first examination after 3 years dedicated practice. But many instructors have trained for over a decade before receiving teaching responsibilities.
3. Progress Through Annual Exams
Students aiming to become teachers typically undergo yearly examinations to deepen practice and get guidance in various skills, these examinations are conducted by Master Chu King Hung, the head of ITCCA Europe. These exams assess proficiency in Tai Chi forms, principles, and teaching readiness. Preparation for the examinations requires to assign for several private classes with the own teacher, by attending the weekly classes or workshops, and by assisting in the school to acquire teaching skills.
4. Receive a Teaching Assignment
Upon demonstrating sufficient skill and understanding, students may be granted a teaching assignment, allowing them to instruct in a specific region or in the own school.
5. Maintain Ongoing Development
Even after becoming a teacher, continuous learning is encouraged. Instructors often participate in seminars and further training to deepen their practice and teaching skills.
